About Me.
Gracyn's story
Gracyn was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia
in January 2023. A week after turning 2, Gracyn
got very sick with RSV, her body had a hard time
fighting the virus and this is what ultimately led
to her diagnosis a few months later. In February
2023, Gracyn started 7 months of active chemo
at St. Vincent’s Children’s Hospital. Her treatment
consisted of month-long hospital stays. Her mother
was able to take a leave of absence from her job as a
teacher to be by Gracyn’s side for the duration of her
treatment. Thankfully, several foundations stepped
up to help financially. Gracyn and her family are very
thankful to be on the other side of this journey and
are forever indebted to the staff on the 10th floor
at St. Vincent’s and foundations like the Children’s
Cancer Family Foundation. They’re not sure how
they would have made it without their generosity.
